As times have changed, everyone wants their images on a disc. While this is the most popular choice, from personal experience I’d like to warn you.
I was traveling and had promised a dear friend I would bring pictures of our children with me. Well, when we arrived I realized that I left my photos on the counter that I had ordered from my professional printer. Since I promised her, I decided that I would send them to the local one-hour Walgreens. I figured, she wont mind… I mean she just wants a picture my boys right?
It was everything these one-hour labs promise. Fast and Convenient. Wait, where is the option of quality?? As I opened the envelope, I wasn’t expecting perfection, but I definitely was not expecting my son to be . . . an umpa lumpa!!
The left is from my professional printer that I left on my counter… the right is from walgreens one hour lab. Below you will see the actual digital image that I created.
When giving my clients CDs of images, I only recommend printing through Mpix.com because they are an extension of a professional printer. I also do not guarantee the quality of the photos you print, because I do not control who you print with. But, on the other hand I want to give my clients what they want because they are essentially their memories.
I’m not trying to tell you to not buy digital images, I am just wanting you to know that I too have tried the local one hour labs. You have just spent good money to have your memories photographed, and I want you to be able to cherish those memories. Not look back and say…. was I really an umpa lumpa?!?
Please ask if you have questions about printing and/or what I offer through my professional printer. I’m here to help! My ultimate goal is for you and your family to cherish your photos for many generations.
