Gender Reveal – Decatur IL Photographer

I could not be more excited to share this.  I experienced one of the happiest, funniest and most meaningful sessions ever tonight.  I got to photograph a gender reveal!

This afternoon I was hand delivered an envelope after their doctors appointment with the precious announcement of their baby’s gender. Now mind you I was the only person (besides the doctor) in the whole world to know what this little baby to be was. Needless to say, I was dying to spill the beans, but I had to keep it a secret for three hours!

As I photographed, a dear friend video taped their reaction for them to share with their family immediately.  Gotta love technology!  We also were joined by close family and friends as they opened that trunk to reveal what gender will be joining their already amazing family.

Let’s get to the pictures :)

Congrats to their family… and cannot wait to meet her!

12-12-12 Project | April

I fell off the bandwagon in March… but I’m back!  For those that have missed my other 12-12-12 project posts…. basically I post 12 pictures, on the 12th of the month… for 12 months (yeah yeah yeah… make that 11).

This month I captured all things Easter with my family.  From dying eggs, playing outside and our most important our easter present…. a new puppy!  Her name is Lucy, and she is a great addition to our family.  My boys couldn’t love her more!

Make sure you check out my photografriend, ,        at      to see her set for April!

Here are my boys dying eggs.  Oliver wasn’t sure what to think.  Cooper dived right in… and gave me that “not while I’m dying eggs” look when I was snapping pictures.

Here is Oliver playing outside.  He loves exploring everything right now… it is so much fun to watch him learn the world.

For Easter we decided that we wanted a family pet.  Ok, let’s be honest… I convinced my husband to get a puppy!  Seriously, what was I thinking?!?  It’s like my 3rd newborn in 3 years.  But once again it has been worth it!  Welcome to the family Lucy!

Here are our Easter Sunday best!  The boys were “hunting” for eggs in our back yard… and I even got to be in some pictures with them!  I have NO idea where Cooper gets his smile :)

I Heart Faces Challenge – April – Happiness

I’ve decided to jump on the “I Heart Faces.com” bandwagon and enter in one of my favorite photos for their theme Happiness.  This is of my little guy Oliver, he was playing with the balloons from his birthday and the amount of joy on his face is priceless.  It has been a hard milestone for me, I feel like he is growing too fast.  But boy is he having fun doing it!

Home is where the heart is….

It was so great seeing this entire family (almost) back together.  They were still missing an important piece, Adam, their 2nd oldest son that is serving in the Air Force so he could not be with them.  But the smiles on their face for getting pictures with the newest addition to the family was priceless.  I’m very happy to be able to capture such a memorable time in their lives.

Almost ready for baby!

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful mama to be!  Isn’t she glowing??  I don’t say that about many moms, but I really think she looks fabulous for being 30 weeks along!  Cannot wait to meet their little guy in 10 weeks!

Nora turns 2!

We got to enjoy the summerlike weather and visit the duck pond for Nora’s 2 year pictures.  She loved chasing the ducks and climbing the walls.  The thing I love most about 2 year olds… they are so curious!

12-12-12 February

We are to month two of my 12 – 12 -12 project!  Here is where you will get a monthly peek into my life.  You’ll get 12 pictures, for 12 months on the 12th of each month.  My son was very happy to wake up to snow this morning!  I got to take Cooper out with his friend and have fun throwing snow balls, shoveling, and making snow angels.  Cooper just wanted to eat the snow… typical!  Then we got to come inside and warm up with hot coco!  Perfect winter day!

You should check out a photografriend of mine, Cristen, at Sweet Pickle Pictures that is also participating in this project.  She had a little fun in the snow with her little one as well :)

12 -12 -12 Project…. January

I’ve decided to join some “photografriends” in a 12 – 12 – 12 project this year.  We all agree that we struggle with stopping to capture our own daily lives, and we needed a push.  I attempted a 365 last year, and failed miserably.  So, the idea behind this project is to take 12 pictures on the 12th of the month for 12 months.  Hence the name 12-12-12.

Below are my January photos, I captured my boys playing and getting ready for the day.  My oldest, Cooper, loves his Mack truck he got for Christmas.  While my youngest, Oliver, is just about to walk!  I also caught someone other than Cooper using his potty!

Happy Holidays!

What a fun fall session!  I got the pleasure of photographing a dear friend’s family.  It’s great to see a photo will all of them in it!  Remember to make sure you capture one of your family this year!
